My name is Liesbeth Ramondt, I am a counselor-coach with a centrally located pratise in Leiden, where I can offer professional and confidential mental support. Together we look into your problem and explore (subconscious) elements that are influencing your situation . With new insights and focus on your qualities, you learn to view your problems from another angle and deal with them differently, in order to be able to feel again the beautiful person that you are.

Individual counseling or coaching offers an accessible form of mental support and conversation therapy during temporary challenging times in your life, from which fatigue, low energy, headaches, stress symptoms, or a general feeling of dissatisfaction can be some of the issues that arise. 1-on-1 Counseling or coaching helps you to gain more insight, understanding, and awareness, and helps you to work on personal, mental, or health-related dilemmas. Together, we will explore where you feel stuck, preventing change from happening. In counseling, we dive deeper into the origins of the problem and focus on healing emotional pain and improving well-being, enabling you to make the changes you need.
I support you in reducing your symptoms and restoring balance in yourself and your life, so you can function again as effectively as possible. We will work together to bring about changes for the future.

About me - Adaptation as the common thread
Moving to another country, adapting to a new (work) environment or culture, meeting new friends, supporting your children in this new setting, and saying goodbye every few years. Moving has been a recurring theme in my life until 2017, the year my family and I moved back to Leiden. I moved house frequently as a child, but also as an adult. Right after graduating in China Studies at the Leiden University, I moved to China with my partner. Growing up abroad, as it was ‘in my blood,’ I jumped into this adventure without much hesitation. Together, we have had the privilege of living and working in different countries and learning from the different cultures.
Although I am extremely grateful for these extraordinary life experiences, it wasn’t always easy, and I encountered quite a few personal challenges and emotional hurdles along the way. Feelings of stress, anxiety, misunderstanding, insecurity, loneliness, a strong need for connection, even grief and loss took on different dimensions. A mindset of 'keep going' is a strength and a pitfall at the same time.
Back in the Netherlands with regrown 'roots', I rely on the positive qualities I have gained throughout my life such as adaptability, decisiveness, pro-activeness, flexibility, resilience and cultural sensitivity, and channel my experiences into my work.
Today, I support expats in my counseling and coaching practice in Leiden. I help my clients to overcome their challenges and reach their goals with unconditional regard and attention for their individual needs.

How I work
Free intake session
The goal of this first introductory session is to explore your needs, what kind of help you're looking for, or what you would like to work on. I will then explain how I can assist you and will answer your questions. We will also discuss how we can structure the trajectory and how many sessions we would minimally engage in together. A completed intake form will serve as our guide.
This session will take about 1 hour.
Sessions
Sessions take 60 minutes. We will delve deeper into the issues and explore possibilities for finding solutions and making changes. Regular evaluations will take place to optimize the following sessions and adjust goals if necessary. Additional sessions may be required where extra attention is needed to achieve a satisfactory result.
How you know yourself best
In both coaching and counseling, no diagnoses are made and no treatment plan is discussed. You maintain control over your own process. The approach is based on the individuals who know themselves best. I guide you to find the best solutions for your situation, and based on your needs I use various methods or tools.
Session online or in-person
Sessions take place online or on in-person, depending on the needs.
In-person sessions are held at my practice in central Leiden or at Het Coachhuis in Leiden.
In practice, a mix of online and in-person sessions works well.

FAQ
How many sessions do I need?
There is not a clear answer to this question. During the intake we will discuss how many sessions we anticipate. We will regularly evaluate progression and goals and therewith the number of sessions. An indication for a short trajectory could be 6-12 sessions.
Can I cancel or change the date or time of my session?
I hope you understand that chaging the date or time or cancellation of the session within 24 hours of the start is not possible. If by any chance you do need to cancel or change within 24 hours, the total fee will be billed.
What is counseling?
Counseling is a short-term and accessible form of individual psycho-social support and guidance. The counselor supports and guides you through unwanted, painful or difficult situations in your life, as to diminish your problems and find back the balance in yourself and in your life.
Is this therapy?
Counseling and coaching are not therapy, because no diagnoses or consequent treatment plans will be made. They are a form of psycho-social support and guidance to help you find solutions to your problems.
Can sessions be reimbursed by the health insurance?
The sessions are currently not reimbursed by the insurance. However, some employers are prepared to take up the costs for coaching and counseling, to support you in your well-being and work-life balance. Your mental health is of importance for the organization.
